WE ARE HIRING A CASE MANAGER

Case Manager
37.5 hours/week - Full Time Term position  
(September 2022 – December 2022)
Potential for renewal
 
Primary Work Location: Hubbards and Chester
(Travel within Lunenburg County)
 
Position Summary:
 
Case Managers are responsible for assessing an individual’s employment/career needs and identify those who are suitable for case management. Case Managers work with these individuals in a collaborative, client driven process to develop a Return To Work Action Plan (RTWAP). The actions of a Case Manager must address the specific needs of the client as documented in their goals. The Case Manager must support accountability by organizing service delivery that is appropriate, coordinated, and timely to address client needs and desired outcomes.

Responsibilities:
 
 Career Development
 
Preference given to applicants who have a valid NS Career Development Practitioner certificate or be willing to become enrolled in the NSCDA Career Pathways working towards the CCDP certification
  • Conduct client needs assessment, including Level 1 Assessment (others as needed)
  • Assist clients to establish career goals, job search, job maintenance, skills enhancement, education plans and being able to identify and access resources for their own self-guided career development strategies where applicable
  • Identify client strengths and barriers to employment, develop Return-to-Work-Action Plans to address barriers.
  • Collect labour market information for clients regarding job openings, entry and skill requirements and other occupational information.
  • Monitor and evaluate the RTWAP; adjust as needed; provide follow-up and support
  • Working collaboratively with community groups, agencies, and other organizations involved in providing community based career planning resources
  • Connect with employers as required.
 
 Administration

  • Documenting client information in LaMPSS (ex: employment history, education background, career goals, barriers to employment and Return-to-Work-Action Plan).
  • Create and submit funding applications.
  • Follow up progress and closing files in LaMPSS after the client meets his/her career objectives.
 
Required knowledge skills abilities and personal attributes:
 
The Case Manager must have:
  • Proficient knowledge in the legislation, regulations, policies and procedures for employment, training and working knowledge of career development theory and applications
  • Solid understanding of Labour Market Information and its applications
  • The ability to define and manage career and personal development goals and transition
  • Formal training in Case Management practices is an asset
  • Solid understanding of assessment, processes, tools and resources
  • Working knowledge of employment/career related services, programs and interventions
  • A valid Nova Scotia Drivers’ license and access to reliable transportation.
 
The Case Manager must be able to:
  • Effectively use information and communications technology; conduct research
  • Adhere to inclusionary practice, ethical decision making and respect for diversity, inclusion and confidentiality
  • Commit to professional development and career self-management
 
 Qualifications, Experience and Work Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree or college diploma in a related field, such as psychology, social services or education, is usually required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in services related to counseling or in a helping profession may replace formal education.
  • Clean criminal record check
 
Salary range: $37,050 - $48,750

On October 4th, we are hosting a part-time job fair for Queens County, in Liverpool at Queens Place Emera Center in the Community Room. This fair is small with 6 employers to be joining.
​
Everyone is welcome to attend and our job fair isn’t strictly for kids and students, but they would be most suited to the jobs being presented.

  • Queens Manor
  • Subway

​​​Our Part-Time Job Fair will feature employers recruiting for part-time, contract, and seasonal job opportunities.

This is a casual event. Business Casual is recommended, but casual clothing, including jeans, shorts, t-shirts, athletic wear, tennis shoes, and sandals, is fine to wear since students may be coming to and from class.
​
Event is free for job seekers and open to students/alumni from any college/university.

What to bring: 10 copies of a professional resume is recommended (no cover letters or references needed).
